Today we decided to branch out a little and jump on a train to Sheffield to watch 36 Crazyfists and Eighteen Visions in action.
We got there just as the UK’s very own Bullet For My Valentine graced the stage.
They gave a good start to the evening with an impressive performance. Their music sounds something like Iron Maiden and Metallica with a bit of Killswitch thrown in to give it a modern edge. It works. Look out for these lot they’re going to be big.
Next up Eighteen Visions don’t disappoint. First up they played Obession which had James Hart shouting ‘obsession, desire, depression’ lines which were to sum up the rest of the set. Filled with grinding, melodic hardcore. Songs included Tower Of Snakes, Vanity and Waiting For The Heavens.
The band Pranced around the stage in a cool rock ‘n’ roll sorta way. Though some things James Hart said to us were a bit corny ‘Shout fuck yeah if you like Def Leppard’ hmmm....
Eighteen Visions are one amazing live band. If you ever get the chance make sure you see this band.
And once again I didn’t get to see 36 Crazyfists properly because once again we’re distracted. I’m starting to think we’re cursed. But what I did see was really good and I’ve also been told they were amazing. So i’m going to take it from that...
From a far away point of view songs like The End Of August and Bloodwork sounded amazing.
At one point though I turned to see what was going on and Brock Lindow had a towel wrapped around his head, someone might want to explain that one to me...
The night was great but I do regret not getting to watch 36 Crazyfists preoperly... again.
