		VELVET REVOLVER CONTRABAND (rca) reviewed by lex *******

	Velvet Revolver, the “supergroup” that includes members of Guns And Roses and Stone Temple Pilots release their debut album. Musically Contraband is a good album. No one can doubt Slash’s guitar playing but Scott Weiland’s vocals lets it down considerably with his lack of emotion.

The last track ‘Bodies’, which is a live track stands out as it as a different sound to it. it’s a bit more punky than the rest of the album.
The highlight of the album is in no doubt first single ‘Slither’ which is also the fastest and heaviest.
Overall. Although it’s a good album it should have been better than this considering exactly who is in the band. Maybe they’re too old....
