Misery Signals were not as good as I expected them to be. That’s not to say they were awful, just a little disappointing tonight.
Emanuel proved slightly better. They have a more punk based sound than the other bands on the bill but still managed to fit in.
Eighteen Visions were definitely the biggest thing in Sheffield tonight and had the whole of the Corporation in the palm of their hands.
They began their set chanting ‘Obsession, Desire, Depression’ (The first two words effectively suming up the atmosphere.) and they flung into ‘I Let Go’.
James Hart seduced the crowd with his Scott Weiland-esque moves.
The rest of the band were on fire.
Songs like ‘Waiting For The Heavens’, ‘Vanity’ and the closer ‘Tower Of Snakes’ went down a storm and Eighteen Visions also did an excellent cover of Guns and Roses’s ‘Paradise City’
These were not a band to be missed and if you did happen to miss them make sure you see them play next time they come over.
