A year ago HIM were relatively unknown on these shores and now they are fast becoming a household name. Maybe it’s because of the gothic good looks of front man Ville Valo or possibly the association with one Bam Margera. But whatever the reason it’s a blessing that they have come to our attention. The reason for this is clear listening to ‘And Love Said No’.The tracks are all HIM’s singles up to date with two new tracks (one being forthcoming single ‘Solitary Man’) and two re-workings (both from ‘Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666’). If you own all HIM’s albums you’re going to know how great this album is. If you only own ‘Love Metal’ then you only have a taster of what HIM has to offer and there are so much more great songs. Otherwise there’s not much to offer in new material. But there is a DVD of live footage which is a plus. Greatest Hits albums though are great for giving an introduction to a band and ‘And Love Said No’ is good for this as it includes HIM’s best work such as ‘Join Me’ and ’Sweet 666’. ‘Join Me’ being one of my personal favourite HIM tracks. Fanatics of HIM will definitely purchase this album but I also reccommend it for owners of Love Metal alone or for those wanting to hear some HIM. Overall, this is the HIM album to own.
