Million Dead
Harmony No Harmony

With opener Bread and Circuses and the vitriolic Plan B, it would be easy to say that Million Dead haven’t moved on much from 2003’s A Song to Ruin. However, Harmony No Harmony is a much more melodic, sprawling piece of work. At times, the whole album seems ready to grind to a halt (especially during the superhero-baiting Margot Kidder), only to launch into another, completely different style of song. The title track is nothing more than an acoustic afterthought, but it somehow manages to sit comfortably with tracks like Murder and Create and To Whom It May Concern.
If you like Million Dead, then Harmony No Harmony is them branching out and trying new things. If you don’t, it’s them going a bit emo. Either way, it’s something you have to hear.
