2002s Vanity was a step in a different direction for Eighteen Visions and now with their new release they have done it once again.
The most obvious thing about Obsession is James Hart actually singing for the majority of the album rather than his usual shouting.
The other noticable thing is how much the sound has mellowed. (probably due to the departure of guitarist Brandon Schieppati now singer of Bleeding Through)

Eighteen Visions have changed their sound with great effect to produce their best work yet. A melodic and soft album intertwined with an harcore edge.
Every track is as good as the last. Particular highlights include ‘Tower Of Snakes’, ‘Lost in A Dream’ and ‘Waiting For The Heavens’
Last track ‘Said And Done’ is a slow, beautiful song that finishes off the album nicely.
Title Track ‘Obsession’ sums up the album, Obsession, Desire, Depression.
With an album like this, the only way is up.
