Spare a thought for One Man Army. Even at their worst, Alkaline Trio are a hard act to follow, and on these six tracks they seem to have reached pop-punk perfection. The guitars are melodic but distorted, the vocals are polished and the lyrics…let’s just say thay haven’t cheered up much since ‘Good Mourning’ (sample lyric: ‘I’d kill for you and eat the flesh, give you the heart and burn the rest’).
