		THE RASMUS DEAD LETTERS (Universal) Reviewed by lex *******

	I wouldn’t normally purchase an album based on one song. Frankly, the rest of the album ends up being complete rubbish but I loved ‘In The Shadows’ that much that I just had to buy Dead Letters. Luckily the rest of this album doesn’t disappoint.

It sounds as though they want to go heavy but the songs end up being poppy. Take ‘In My Life’ for excample. The begginning shows that the song has a good prospect of being heavy but then in slows when the vocals come in. Then we get to the chorus and it goes bouncy. Its seems to be mixed up. Don’t take this has a bad thing (unless you do want to hear heavy stuff then stay away.) as it works.
The Rasmus have come at the right time. They are a band that will appeal to the mainstream audience AND to the alternative crowd. There’s no doubt that ‘In The Shadows’ will be in the charts.
The only problem I really have with this is that now and again vocalist Lauri’s voice tends to go off key.
The best tracks are ‘In The Shadows’, ‘First Day Of My LIfe’ and ‘The One I Love.’
