		interview with Victor Love Dope Stars Inc

	How did you come up with the name Dope Stars inc? Before the real beginning of DSI Grace and Darin choosed a name for a band they wanted to build up and it was Dead Girls Inc. But it was a name of another band in LA area…then when I joined and we started to work on songs we changed it into Dope Stars Inc after serveral testing emails about a cool name.

What is the actual meaning of Dope Stars inc? is there a reason for having the inc on the end?
Dope represent the gasoline of our music, Stars the rock’n’roll attitude and Inc. the industrial world where DSI lives.

Anything planned for 2004?
Yeah we plan a new EP or a new album. Depends if we’ll find a good deal or not. If we’ll find a kick ass deal with a good budget we’ll produce a full length with all the good shit of any good production. If not we’ll do the same as the 1^st EP and I’ll produce it. Probably it will be similar to the 10000 watts ep…5 songs and one cover song and some remixes. This time we’ll have the video clip too since overdriven will be included in the new EP and what about the other songs we already got 3 of them ready too.

How is it seeing yourself in magazines,posters etc.. in different countires?
It’s funny and is a big satisfaction to see your results after a lot of months of hard work and stress :D

Do you think dopestarsinc will be bigger than My Sixth Shadow your other band?
Depends on the luck cause both the bands got the same potential. Especially with the new album of my sixth shadow that we are recording right now that is a real atomic bomb! Carrer is always a random thing..you cannot say what will happen.

Any plans of having a CD out?
Yeah if we’ll sign a deal we’ll release an official debut..otherwise we’ll continue to produce release it and sell on cdbaby.com and promote it by ourself and together with our street team.

Have you always been into this type of music?
I’ve been always in a lot of kinds of music. DSI is a mix of Industrial Metal, Rock’n’Roll and Techno/Ebm with some darkwave and I’ve always been into all theese genres.

Did you expect dopestarsinc to sound like it does?
When we started Grace wanted to do a Industrial Rock’n’roll bands..that’s what he told me when I started to write down the music..but during the songwriting I wanted to test something more..something different and I started to put some rough techno/hardocre and Ebm/Futurepop…it was just a test but the result was so fucking awesome that I suddenly understood that it was the right way to follow in order to develop an unique style…there are already other industrial rock’n’roll band or industrial metal bands out there but I do not think there are other bands that can be similar to DSI right now..maybe in the short future eheh.

What was it like for yougrowing up as a kid?
My childhood was quite normal…good times and bad times…I had an hard time when I was a teen mainly cause of prb with my parents (to be clear…problems OF my parents…not mine but as always every son have to suffer them at their place) and I’ve been always a guy that want to solve things…that means that every time I tried to help them to solve their problems and every time I got only shit as payback. They didn’t supported me much but at the end I think that they helped to move me to express everything with music in a sort of katarsis I try to sublimate my sufferings writing down music…btw it’s not always the same..there are songs that came out in some happy days :D

does it take you long getting ready for photos, or do you dress like that every day anyway? in my opinion the way you dress rocks:)
Yeah it take a lot! Like 2 hours :) we are fashion victims lol

is your real name Victor Love?
Yes and no…In other words is the translation of my name in English :D

who was your inspiration while growing up?
There is not one artist or band that inspired me in particular. I’ve been always listening to a lot fo genres and they formed my background. This is the reason why dope stars inc is a mix of a lot of genres.
